This year, I’m finally trying it: that project every other photographer has done at one point or another: 365 photos in 365 days. I’ve never done something like this before, seeing as I’m just not that good at sticking to daily projects. I’ve suddenly been inspired to try, though, and am still going strong almost two months later. Since my days are spent almost entirely with my favorite little human, I decided that he would be the subject of this project. Here are some of February’s daily photographs. Enjoy!
February’s Daily Photographs
The project has been challenging, for sure. It takes so much effort to bring along my big camera on outings and then to remember to pull it out, too. Despite how much I love shooting professionally, photographing my own kiddo is a whole other game. No, but seriously – lately every time he sees me pull the camera out, he thinks it’s time to tackle me. -< I’m trying to keep from staging these photos as much as possible, but I do sometimes resort to placing him somewhere he can’t reach me! My goal in taking daily photographs of Povi is not just to continue improving and learning more about photography, but also to get better at photographing in weird locations with an extremely fidgety subject.
I won’t lie: at times life does get in the way and I find myself shooting two…or three!? (gasp!) photos in one day. Ah well, there you have it: I’m not perfect. Despite this, I love how beautifully these photographs capture our day-to-day life and the passing months.
Along with the images themselves, a favorite part of this project has been writing the short blurbs under each photograph on my facebook page. I’m going to have to put all the photos into a real album at the end of the year, because it’s becoming a sort of visual diary. <3
What do you think? I’d love to know which are your favorites so far!
